Traditional Bathroom Remodel

Traditional bathrooms are not “Plain Jane” ugly affairs but are well planned facilities that serve a function using a traditional look. The look is not “Early American“ either but a bathroom that is seen in many American suburban homes.

The “traditional bathroom” has a shower and tub, a single toilet that is usually not enclosed and a double vanity with a mirror and storage The arrangement of these bathrooms are what makes them traditional and the selection of fixtures is the other reason that they are called traditional bathrooms.
Traditional Bathroom Remodel Example
The arrangement is usually two rooms with the tub and shower unit and toilet in one room and the double vanity in the other. As you enter the traditional bathroom the vanity and sink will be in the first room and the tub and shower unit and toilet in the other with a door separating them. This arrangement allows more than one person to use the bathroom.

The traditional bathroom fixtures tend to run to what is called designer colors and white. The toilet is a standard water saver unit and the tub shower unit is more than likely a one piece molded unit with a sliding glass door. The vanity has two sinks that are under mounted into a Corian type counter top that sits over identical sink cabinets that have a drawer unit. The lighting is located over a large mirror creating very good light. The flooring is a ceramic tile that pulls both rooms together. The faucets and knobs are gold, silver or a gold and silver mix and the knobs are spooked with a “c” and “h” on the top of the knobs. These fixtures have high curved water spouts but are not goose necked. The showerhead and baht faucets and knobs match the vanity faucets and knobs.

The term “traditional bathroom” has the connotation of boring and that is not the case at all. Good bathroom contractors can take the most mundane materials and create an exciting lower cost bath that your friends will “oh” and “ah” over. The professionals know how to make the countertop and sinks and fixtures look perfect along with the lighting so that the traditional bathroom glows with class and functionality.
