The customer wanted a stainless countertops and a glass tile back splash.  Modernizing a kitchen can be done in an economical way, that offers a more timeless look.  For this remodel, we used stainless steel countertops.

Our Kitchen Remodel Process

We began the demo process by first removing the ceramic tile backsplash. The tile had originally been set directly on the Sheetrock so that was removed as well down to the studs. We removed the sink and faucet next. Then the tile and damaged decking underlayment was removed. From here we installed new 3/4″ decking over an arrangement of 2×4 frame work. This created strength for the countertops that will be installed later. Next we used 1/2″ plywood and cut our templates that will be taken to the steel shop.
We then installed new greenrock at the backsplash. We layed out the multi-colored glass tiles in order and set them in place. The resident choose a snow white colored grout.

The stainless countertops take about 7 business days to be completed. So now we received the call that the 18 guage steel has been pressed with a 2″ fold on the front lip. Laser cut precision for the sides, back, and sink cut out make for a flawless finish. After installing and setting the sink and faucet back in place this job has come together very well.
